The “Dinamo” project is a nod to the  wines of Umbria’s pastoral past, and a collaboration between native Umbrian families that have been making wine there for many generations: Danilo Nofrini with his children Rachele and Simone, and Danilo Marcucci.  Together, in the highest vineyards around Lake Trasimeno, the Nofrinis and Marcucci have succeeded in creating an agricultural program that aims at wines that are pure and natural expressions of the Umbria countryside. 

Dinamo “energy” wines are inspired by the work of Antonio Pacinotti, an Italian physicist who invented the Dinamo (or “Dynamo”) in 1860, a direct-current generator using a simple mechanism, or as Danilo says - “a living, renewable, pure and clean energy”. These wines transparently express the clay and calcium-rich alluvial soils of Lake Trasimeno, and many of them celebrating the local red grape, Gamay del Trasimeno (a historic mis-named variety of Grenache).
